Well, it's not completely done yet but I'd kinda wanted to get this out this weekend, so here we go. On my research trip to the San Francisco NARA I went looking for USS San Francisco's damage report for her night fight at Guadalcanal. NavSea had posted it before but without photos, and I felt that it would be good to get the whole thing online for those who want to read about the ship and modelers looking for that last little bit of detail.
The report is online here. It contains nearly 45 photos and three plates. Plates I and III are linked to but not uploaded yet, so you will receive error messages if you click on them. All of the pictures are posted and will enlarge if you click on them, albeit the reproduction quality wasn't the best.
This document is also highly linkable, click on the "Highlight & comment" link up top for instructions as to how, but if you want to discuss any specific paragraph, any specific hit, you can send or post that link. I just ask that you not embed the images in other sites directly.
I would like to thank those, on this Independence Day, that fought for our independence, and our freedoms. Posting this reminder of some of those is one way I can pay my respects and offer my thanks.
