They look very much like canopy frames to me.

Well if all else fails, we should know in 1 to 2 weeks. I just ordered a set from China. Now if we can just get them to do the same for IJN aircraft.

Fits trumpeter aircraft slightly better than dragon ones. TBD's corrugated wing is a bit difficult to fold properly. Otherwise fairly comprehensive sets.

I just received this set in the mail. Not only are there canopy frames provided for all four types of aircraft, but there are separate frames included to depict the canopy in the open position.
Most impressive are the TBF canopies, with the rear turret ball represented and the gunners canopies offered in the folded open position.
Thanks for bringing attention to this set Sean, I predict we will soon be seeing more activity on the 1/700 flight deck.
