I had to select an avatar from a bunch of images that said nothing of myself or interests. How about some NAUTICAL AVATARS !!!!!! Only one I could find resembling a ship was the starship E from STREK.... and yes, I am a child of Star Trek, grew up with that in the 60s........

Ahoy Ray, Welcome to Modelshipwrights mate, very honored to have you aboard!

Avatar's, eh?
Instead of offering a group of generic avatar's, we have the option here at Kitmaker of a custom, personalized avatar (can even be a photo of yourself), and you can resize and upload any respectable image that you wish by accessing your account page by first clicking on the "your locker" link in the upper right hand corner, near your private message envelope.

This will take you to your personal "control panel"...here you will see a series of iconized functions that you can perform on your account. Click on the "modify profile" icon (3rd from left), which will take you to your account modification page.

On the right side of the page, in a little pink box tagged "My Photos", you'll see the function option of a custom avatar, and personal photo for your profile to upload if you wish...follow the "upload avatar" link to our designated gallery area for custom avatars, and then you can upload your image by following the process listed there...proper sizing is a must as any image larger than the specified parameters will be resized automatically, and a larger image of course will be distorted (with your experience in images, I do believe that you know what I'm saying )

After your image is uploaded, all that is necessary is to tick the circle beside your "Custom Avatar" image that will be displayed back on your "Custom Profile" page and there you have it! Your very own avatar....might sound a bit confusing at first, and if you have any problems, please let me know! Our site software is a dynamic, thriving beast, with extreme, beneficial possibilities, my friend, please enjoy your stay, and looking forward to having you aboard as a regular!

Cheers,
~Gunny
