Hello! i really like that Dragon has started making escort carriers. But, does anyone make a 1/700 Casablanca class? Is it possible to convert one into Casablance frm the Independence or Bouge class kits?
Thanks!
Steve

Looks like these guys do:

You wouldn't want to try to convert an Independence class into a Casablanca since the Independence class was actually a Light Carrier Class and not an Escort Carrier. They were over 100 feet longer, and more than 3000 tons heavier at full displacement. Also, the Independence Class were built off Light Cruiser hulls while the Casablancas were built from a Maritime Commission type hull design.
The Bogues were a lot closer from a length/beam/displacement standpoint, but the hulls were a different design, and they only had a single screw, while the Casablancas had twin screws. Without plans, I'm not sure how much work that would be to convert, but I suspect way too much.
