I am reviewing the instructions on the Knyaz Survorov kit, and they show the main hull coloration to be black. Is this accurate? Was the ship ever another colour during her career? Was there a black bootline, and was the underside painted in red antifouling, or was she sheathed in copper plate? Any help would be appreciated guys

Ahoy Jim!
One of the finest builds of the vessel, as well as some of the finest minds alike on the subject can be found here, mate...you are going to really enjoy this build, my friend, (I know that I did!), the kit builds well, there are some fine A/M sets available, and the subject matter is fantastic!

Regardless, Jim, please keep us posted of the build with a "BLOG" here at MSW, my friend, looking forward to it!

Cheers,
~Gunny

Many thanks ,Mark ...and AHOY!.. I havent been active on the site as realtime has intervened. With my wife having surgury alot of things have been turned upside down. I am currently cutting my nautical teeth on the HMS Belfast...doing her as the HMS Edinburgh. I will be starting the Knyaz Survurov after this. I was planning to do a build log on the Edinburgh, but RT stress is not allowing for this ...sorry. Hopfully things start to settle down soon. And THANKS for the link...cool stuff

I remember when Frank was working on this build last year. He did a lot of research, and you can be sure his work is correct.

The brass funnels by BMK are absolutely fantastic, a must have for this kit. I believe Burkhardt still makes them.
