Ahoy mates!

A few days ago, our mate Mike McCabe made an announcement of a new endeavor that he and the Telford gang has embarked upon, a new website dedicated to the fine art of 1/700 scale waterline modeling...the site has been launched, and by following the link below, you can enjoy this new website!

Quoted from the website header:

"Welcome to finewaterline.com, the website of the Fine Waterline Special Interest Group of IPMS, the International Plastic Modellers Society. As the name suggests, we are a group of modellers based in the UK whose main interest is ships depicted in their natural element, at sea. Our aim is to bring together people with an interest in building waterline ships between 1:700 and 1:350 scale, and to aim for ever higher standards in our modelling.

A gallery will show the work of the group with plenty of tips and tricks to show how we got there. To help point you in the right direction there is a links page to our other favourite modelling websites and other IPMS groups, there are also those important shops and companies producing resin ship models and all those hard to find bits and pieces.
If you are interested in joining the group, would like to submit some photographs of your models or have any questions we can help with please contact us on [email protected].

SIG leader Mike McCabe"

Good luck, gentlemen. and here's to a new and enjoyable journey in this wonderful hobby that we all so enjoy!

It is "FINE", indeed!

And I'm anxious to watch it grow into the "finest". It is like browsing through "Tiffany's".

** TLING ** crash....

(noise of the champagne bottle hitting the "bow" of Finewaterline and breaking)

Mike,
As the CO of FWL, I wish you all the best of luck and success!
I am sure that this will be a successful endeavor and a great reference to all ship modelers that share the passion on these scales.

Wonderful site Mike. The article by Jim on how to make the water base is very informative.
