Ohayou-Gozaimasu
I've just received a bunch of Lionroar PE for my 1/700 Yamato, and some of it is mounted on an adhesive film, instead of being attached to the fret itself.
What I'd like to know, is how do you guys prepare this type of PE for primer. Or for that matter PE in general.
I know of bathing the frets in dilluted acid or in mineral-spirit .... and/or sand the frets a bit with a very fine sandingpaper. However I'm not sure if the 1/700 PE parts are durable enough for these actions, and secondly .. I'm not sure if the adhesive film can stand it ..
Any advise will be appreciated

Hi Niels,
Try giving them a wash in plain old Vinegar and then a rinse in tapwater while still on the paper backing. Cheap, quick, and easy and then you can enjoy the benefits of the self adhesive parts. As to the regular PE parts a dip in some rubbing alcohol usually works to get rid of any sort of left over chemicals on the surface.
