well I actually got round to working on this one a little....Thanks to Jan for info and inspiration.

Just a few in prog shots of the schnorkel trench* for want of a better term. asI did this I realised a lot of what I had already scratched was well wrong.

Yes theres a huge hole in the pressure hull.....some fool was scratching the gun support before realising it wasnt there on this variant.....which means a lot of the deck hatches will need rescribing.

Anyway, comments and critique always appreciated...my first post of my stuff onsite.

Thanks folks for the comments, I hope to get a little further with this over the hols..., I have the eduard set for her. but looking at photo's there seems little evidence of crews using the rail mesh /net around the wintergarten etc, it seems a little overscale anyhow, so not sure where to go with that...time will tell.

More important, which vessel to model, my choices grow limited wit the mods I keep making

Hi Keith!

Ay, that's the problem with scratchbuilding--you' re no better than your reference material, and in my case, INTERPRETING the stuff properly...

But, in the long run, it gives you the ability to personalize your models and make them uniquely yours.
