Thanks for the heads up Sean. Looks like a couple of interesting kits there.
I'm a bit baffled as to why Revell cover so many different scales. Do Revell do many ships in the same scale?
Their aircraft are in fixed scales (and I'll happily and unashamedly mention and recommend the superb 1/32 Hawker Hunter ) but ship scales seem to be all over the place, especially around the larger scales.
Not a gripe, I'm just a bit baffled by the strategy.

The oddball ship scales are a legacy of the days when models were scaled to fit inside standard cardboard boxes. Since there was no established world-wide scale for ships, this was a perfectly acceptable methodology for kit companies. I believe standardization began with the Japanese (just like 1:35 for armor) when they released a large number of 1:700 ships in the '60s and '70s.

I like when you look at the Tirpitz 3-D and say, what isn't blue! Looks like a wide range of topics being covered.

I'd love to get the new RoG luxury yacht or power boat. Definitely something different, but I would have to fight the urge to dull coat them..

Hi Kenny!
Yes, but think of the masking possibilities!

Well, the Bismarck was a very good one, so let's hope the Tirpitz will be just as good or better. I'm lookin forward for it release. Hopefully soon.

The speedboat shown is the old Monogram "Miami Vice" Wellcraft 38 foot Scarab kit, later released as "Splash Dancer" and "Dazzlement." Builds up pretty nice and looks faaaassssst.
