I like what modelers like Carl Musselman, Rob Kerrigan and Peter Fulgoney do for a background when photographing their models. I've found a couple of images that when printed on a large scale (23" long) do not distort.
Here's what I've found:
I've got some others to try, also. So, what would you use and how?

Hi Kenny and Jim
I usually don't put any background images on my MOD/Feature photos...
I use the same blue card type as for the bottom part.
If you want I can take some High-Res photos of the seascape here, and send to anyone interested
Of course, I can make different snaps (good weather, cloudy and bad weather - as we are having now, with a strong overcast).
Please let me know if you need/want this photos - it just take me 5 minutes to get to the seashore!

I was looking for something like that forever. As it stands now i am using a neutral background of some sort of plain white/grey paper ,but these are very nice and could add some atmosphere in the photo as well .As i work in a reprographics center i would be able to print them in color laser printers in any size i would like but i will need the original file in as much higher definition as possible for best results. Can everyone who posted those images feel free to email the original files to me at [email protected].

Hi Guys
So, I will take some photos during the next few days in different hours, to catch different atmospheres.
I will post them here and will sent the ones asked for, to the proper recipient.
Be a little patient on this please
Rui

Does MSW/KitMaker have a function similar to a "public folder"? Any images (files) can be deposited for public (member) download as needed, instead of having an individual email to many members. Would that work?

Hi James
The thing is the allowed file size... I am about to upload some images edited, but the unedited ones are 2~3Mb each.
This would make our image server suffer a "little" bit
So, Guys...
Here is the first "test shots" of "My Sea"
I expect during January 2nd, to take the day and make a hour-by-hour photo shoot, with the same "angles", but it will differ in the sunlight, and of course it will also affect the sea color.
If you need any of these images, please email me with the image name...
Rui
PS: Please let me know if these kind of snapshots are ok, or if you want more water in it...

I was looking through some of the other pictures I took out to sea. Most of my recent ones had either me or my wife in them so I figured nobody wanted to see those. But this one is interesting.
I could hardly see the ship on the horizon with the naked eye.
The picture is 20% its regular size. I take everything at the full 10.3mp setting.
ADDED:
Rui,
Those are very nice!
I miss the ocean.

Those are beautiful photos guys. The size is perfect to do a 23" long print for me.

Just a note that due to bad weather I didn't take the hour by hour seascape photos - I didn't want to take a hourly shower!
Sorry
These have a overcast...
As I said before, email me if any needed - no charges!!
Cheers,
Rui

A little help, Kostas
A quick tip, and the way that I do it, is:
- In gallery, see the image I want
- Right click over the big image and choose: open image in new window
- Copy the url and paste it between the image tags
- Et voilá!
Hope this helps you Kostas, and also others with the same issue.
BTW, it looks very good!! Congratulations!!

Those Q E pics were certainly worth the effort. Nothing like warming the guns for the upcoming WWI campaign.
Good work!

You can go to a website called stock photo exchange http://www.sxc.hu/ and download great pics for free. Then go to perfect posters.com and upload the pics to them to make into posters (20-30 inch for a 1/700 scale ship). Mount them to foam core boards and you have a great background.
