Hi
First time post here - normally you will see me on the dark side of the Armour forum
For those unaware, The Wheatcroft Collection has acquired the last remaining S-boat for full restoration back to wartime configuration. We at The Research Squad have been involved in the project from its inception, and are primarily responsible for co-ordinating the research for the restoration. In addition we are producing new full sets of drawings for the shipwright. For those wishing to followw the restoration we have also set up a website for the project at S130 Restoration
S130 is quite unique as it is an S38b variant - the precursor to the S100 but with 90% of the boat being identical. It also has a full and fascinating history including being one of the boats taking part in the Slapton Sands attack prior to D-Day.
We also have partnerships with both Italeri and Model Military International to promote the new model and cover the upcoming build articles in the magazine.
Regular updates are added to the site and anyone wishing to contribute information for the restoration is welcome to contact us.
Regards
Brian Balkwill
