I too would love to see a Higgins PT in 1/72 plastic. Of course, I'm biased being from Louisiana.
Garth, did you hear that the National WW2 Museum in New Orleans is building a Higgins PT to go with their LCVP? The same team that built the LCVP is is building it.
Kenny

Well, Kenny .................
I will tell you guys now ... now that it is so painfully obvious that nothing will ever come to fruition but .............. a few years ago, I sent photos and drawings to a "certain offshore model kit manufacturer" which remain nameless. What I sent was in regard to a Higgins PT boat ........... I was paid, thanked for my efforts but that's it .........
Yes, I believe that the museum acquired the 305 boat from the defunct DEFENDERS OF AMERICA group, and the remains of the 659 and plans to use both boats to make one complete boat ...

Hello from OZ,
Count me in for a 35th scale 'dog' boat and definitely YES, include enough parts in the kit to do either MTB or MGB version and cater for the different weapons fits. I should think that by doing this, potential customers like us just might?? be inclined to purchase more than one...........over time of course if the price tag on the S-Boat is anything to go by.
My other preferences would be for a Fairmile B ML, then I could do an Aussie one or a Vosper 70' or 72'6" MTB, but my FIRST preference is the 'D'.

I'll second the Fairmile since it would be a perfect compliment to the S-boot.

I was told by a modelmaker here in London that a team from Italeri were seen mesuring the Vosper boat in display nearby the Royal Air Force Museum in London Colindale.

The Hendon Vosper is a rescue and target towing launch, not an MTB/MGB.
