Hi all,
A short while ago, fellow cloggies started a business called shapeways
It is aimed at the individual and offers 3-d printing.
That means : you make the 3-D (CAD) drawing, and they make you something
strongly resembling Resin parts !
several materials can be used, with varying strength, flexibility and detail.
costs go by the volume of material used, max 2 dollars per cubic centimeter.
I saw several modelling examples already. This could make scratch building
a lot more feasible for the less skilled (like me).
check it out : http://www.shapeways.com
found a nice example as well (maybe a bit over the top..)
