A little "in between" project - the finemold Kaiten in 1:72

Nice and easy little kit, some clean up is needed on the two hull halfs, but otherwise its a 20 min. project.

Painting should, according to instructions, be a training version. "sharp" versions is all black, but this looked so much more cool.

Only a basepaint, still have to ad decals (tiny) and wheatering etc. - It comes on a trolly, so I have done a small base with a bit of rails laid out to present it - otherwise its gonna vanish between my other subs

Cheers/Jan

Some progress, a small and simple base and initial wash.

Still got to do a wooden base.

Thanks Kenny and Dave.

I got sidetracked on this one, but today I got a wooden base done and glued it all together, so I guess its done - could use some japanese crew or some GI“s looking at it, but nothing in my stash fits, so that must come later.

Finaly got the pics uploaded - one at a time - here ya go:

Hi Jan!

Looking right on the spot!
I can check my old models and see if I can find 1/72 GI's in an appropriate pose. If I do, I can send them to you. Please let me check...
I also know that we are having big issues with the gallery, but if you can send some photos for a MOD, I would appreciate!

Cheers,

Rui

PS: You could make a custom plaque for it and attach it to the side of the wooden base

Thanks Rui, and thanks for the offer!

I“m going to by a sheet of dark gray paper today to get at better backdrop, I have problems controlling light and contrast with a subject in black and white, so i“ll post some better pics when i get around to it and do a MOD if I can get some better pics.

Cheers/Jan

Really interesting subject. The base really gives you scale. Nicely done.

Blue is always a good option:

I find it quite funny experiementing with photos, but this little bugger is killing me - I guess its the mix of black and white hull that make my camera confused, I tried the same shots with a medium gray background and I think its better than the sand. I have a really dark green.

When I have a result I can live with, I“ll shoot a MOD after Mark.

Cheers/Jan
