Hello Friends,

Decided to start Fujimi's new Kaiyo. Parts seems flawless on sprues as most latest kits.

It was difficult to risen up hull. Construction could be better and easier with some support frames if supplied with the kit. Bridge wall section of Fore deck part is coming shorter to hull sides, while bridge deck part glued to Fore deck. I may done some wrong but checked 50 times and found no reason

According to Model Art Ship Special No:18, The Aircraft Carriers of the Imperial Japanese Navy which were converted Merchant vessels, flight deck is partly wood covered. Kits flight deck part has no any wood details. If the 1/700 dwgs are correctly printed in ModelArt, it seems something wrong with the kit's dimensions. Anyway it will be fun as always. Just wanted to feel how was doing homework...

Does anybody have/had same build?

Regards
Serhan

Hi Serhan,

I too have this model and will watch this build with interest. Whether you build it with or without corrections/refinements, I'm confident you'll do her justice.

Hi Serhan, I was wondering a few things about your deck scribing method, first how do you attach them too each other and how do you keep the blades straight and flush with the deck and create perfect (or at least straight) lines. Thank you very much cause I have a few projects that will benefit from this...... And keep up the great work very inspiring!

Cheers Alex

I have the full hull version that I need to do a quick review of someday (borrowing the above waterline info from Frank's article). I'll be one of the crowd watching your build, Serhan.

Hi Alex, used C.A. and acceletor for attaching blades to each other. Saw this tech.probably somewhere in this forum, so its not my own. I will use it as you seen on photo. I will not apply any handle part or else.

Hi Dade, thanks

Hello,

Tried bundle blade.

This works ok but when start moving on sheet, inner blade touching ruler can be instantly bent. Must arrange something for solving this problem or have to work dead slow

If I may ask some questions,So the grid paper is the template for the drilling? Are you drilling right through the deck or just making a indentation? what diameter of drill are you using. Looks fantastic

Hello silent-one,

Yes, used grid paper as template and I drilled right through deck plate. Several paint layers will be covered deck and all those hole dimensions will be reduced by amount of paint, I thought. I used 0.3mm. drill bits. Thank you,

Hello Bob, thank you

Regards,

Serhan
