Haven“t really wanted to do a blog due to the gallery problems, but on the other hand, I haven“t been idle either, so here goes, Skywaves/Pit-Road german subs XXi and littlesister XXIII in 1:700. Built as stand alone pieces, theres a built review on the way when I get done with them, but heres a appetizer

Another more serious idea, thet might turn into a blog if I feel like it, is a plan to do a small harbour diorama involving a bunch of Hobby Boss 1:700 subs, Tamiyas Z-class destroyer and a load of scatchbuild items - including a uboat bunker.

Heres the kits in prepainted look:

The tug is an attemt to scratsch someting - time will tell if its good enough to go into the dio.

As with so many of your projects, Jan, I can't wait to see what you come up with for the diorama.

Great job on the XXI and XXIII.

Hi Jan

Looks good (Typ XXI and XXIII), but you should give them a black/dark grey wash. Also, place some scale item for the guys who don't know the true size of those models (I do - I have that box )
As for the U-boot bunker scene.... can't wait to see more
Cheers, Jan
Keep up

Thanks mates,

Its funny working in this scale, too bad I haven“t been able to find some etch for the IX and VII - they could need it. I know Toms used to do a small set, but I haven“t found it anywere so ...

Sure, they are still inprogress and have only recieved the basepaint - still alot to do, propellers, white markings, wash, drybrush etc.

I still need some kits to arrive before I can plan the final layout of the diorama, think i“ll do a drydock with the full hull IX next.

We all know that 1:700 is pretty small, luckely I have some 1:35 friends to help me out

And here is the result - notice the level of details on the subs, especially the XXI !

You've got another diorama idea there, Jan!

Hheheh, thanks, I have some of Tamiyas 1:20 figures - mechanics, then I just have to scratch a RC controller

I am amazed of the level og details on these kits, much better than the Hobby Boss kits, and they arn“t bad.
