Shipmates,
While browsing around on Model Ship World, I found this thread that I though might interest you guys. I don't know much about the ship other than that it is a complete scratchbuild for a customer in Russia. It is easily one of the best ships I've ever seen.
Panteleymon - Victoria
At 100 pages it's a rather long thread, but there are some amazing techniques throughout.
Enjoy!

Interesting. I had expected a bigger response.
Anyway, Alexei has finished his model, and posted pictures in the thread above. Take a look, you won't regret it!
Enjoy!

Well, no responses maybe, but i went and direct it went in my bookmarks. First the job is amazing and then there is always one trick or 3 to pick up from such builds even if I don't really model such things!
Thanks for sharing

The build is awesome. It'll just take a lot of time to go through the 102 pages of it in detail.
But thanks for the link. I too, have added it to favorites

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.
I agree. I particularly like the way he made the ship's boats. They're basically wood over paper mache.
Jorge, I agree, it will definitely take awhile. I haven't even been through the whole thing yet. Probably never will!

He certainly has the skill of making his sails look and hang realistic, that's something I can never do.

I went through the whole thread... all 104 pages of it. All I can say is that he is one great artist. Wish I had the skill to tackle even a kit (his is scratch-built). Thanks again for the link, it was definitely worth it.
