Here are some shots of my current project, the RoG Type VII-D "Minenleger" U-Boat. It was a modified Type VII-C with five vertical shafts inserted in a 9.98 meter hull extension in the hull right behind the conning tower. Each shaft held 3 mines stacked one on top of each other.

So far I have finished the minelayer hatches and conning tower with periscopes. Note the Dime sitting on the AA mount deck!



This is some of the finest nee smallest brass parts I have ever soldered. Note the hand rail sitting at a 45 degree angle from the edge of the mine shaft housing.









I didn't like how the brass splash deflector looked so I thinned out the kit part and used it.





Oh and all this in 1/144th scale!

Very nice work so far, didn´t the set hold any deckparts for the wintergarden or is that another set ?

No just the railing and gun parts for the kit proper along with the replacement upper mine hatches. Surprisingly enough they give you no parts for the lower hatches. so I will be mounting on keel blocks.
