Congratulations to all entries in the contest. Fantastic job done by all participants. Peter managed to distribute his build evenly over the 12 months and came out the winner with his Averoff. Thanks also to Dade, Barry, Jacob and Guido for their fine efforts in this lengthy contest. Peter, we're still waiting for a confirmation on the shipping address for your prize, please contact either myself or Mark.

thanks,
Frank

THE FINAL VOTES... (unconfirmed)

Peter 259
Dade 142
Guido 114
Barry 62
Jacob 10

Dade Bell 5pts + 5pts (final vote bonus) = 10 pts.

Great deal of work for the final month. Nice work on the safety and recovery nets, the washes and dull coat give the ship a nice weathered look and the airwing and crew complete the package. Well done Dade. I've given Dade the extra 5pts for his Hiryu, tough for a flat top to compete against the complexities of a BB of CA/CL, but Dade pulled it off.

Peter Fulgoney 3pts +10pts (final vote bonus) = 13 pts.

Good work with the crew, the final photos bring out the intricate levels of detail. Fantastic build Peter. I've awarded Peter the additional 10pts due to his informative tutorials throughout the build, Peter managed to spread his build evenly throughout the 12 months and has provided us with an impressive work of art.

Barry Lesht 1pt + 3pts (final vote bonus) = 4 pts.

Great set of final photos, you've done a magnificent job.

Frank

First off, a hearty thank you and congratulations to all involved with this project, I do believe it was a genuine success overall! We have seen many modelers trials and tribulations over the past months, and have learned and reaped many new tips and techniques throughout...great job, guys, I thank you all again sincerely!

Now on to the business at hand...

Mr. Dade W. Bell, 5 + 5 (final vote bonus) = 10 total points.

Mr. Peter Fulgoney, 3 +10 (final vote bonus) = 13 total points.

Mr. Barry Lesht, 1 + 3 (final vote bonus) = 4 total points.

Great job again, mates, on to the next MSW challenge!

----------

First off to everyone, thank you for your time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears. This certainly has been a very good year for some and a not so good year for others, but over all things really were wonderful. Plenty of ship building was done and plenty of learning!

Dade – 5 (5) Such a beautiful build. I really like the carriers of the IJN and you really made this one stand out. Good job

Peter – 3 (10) Top notch project from start to finish.

Barry – 1 (3) Beautiful ship you have made here.

Jim

--------

Great work gentlemen. Also, a wonderful mix of subjects and techniques.

Peter Fulgoney, 3 +10 (final vote bonus) = 13 total points.

Dade W. Bell, 5 + 5 (final vote bonus) = 10 total points.

Barry Lesht, 1 + 3 (final vote bonus) = 4 total points.

Congratulations to Peter on his well-deserved win! I truly feel that Guido came in a close second as I think his need to retire early was the only way I managed to slip in. Of course, for me, this was "The Year of The Kongo" and thus couldn't really get into the game until after, appropriately enough, the Kongo was finished. This was truly a great time and I enjoyed all of the discussions, pictures, and ideas being shared.

Again, a hearty congrats to Peter and to all who participated. Our little gang here at MSW is a great one, and I'm honored to be in your presence.

PS: Where are Rui's votes?

Hi Dade,

Rui's vote will be included whenever he gets a breather from real life issues...

Got it. Of course, I know that mathematically it has no major bearing on the outcome-- just curious, as he was conspicuous in his absence.

Thank you for your final votes, judges, and thank you my fellow builders whether finishing the project on time or not, as there still will be a finished model ship at a future dtae, and we would like to see these on MSW as feature articles.

It's been a good experience for me to actually build something I like, and has some quality but as I said on the blog I'm not finished yet as there is other content to the composition which I shall add to complete the work to my satisfaction.

Thanks to all for their support during the build, and their very kind words as we progressed, and as I said before there is more team effort to this than you will know.

Regards to all

Fellow ship modellers!

About half a year ago the first community building contest ended.
The contest winner Mr. Peter Falgoney, was kind enough to trade his first price with me (as the subject doesn’t really fit his field of interest 100%).

Today the big box arrived and so I had a kind of belated X-mas!

I’ll promise to bring it to good use. I hope her will be another building contest some time this year.

Cheers,
Guido

AHA, yes, my friend, good things come to those who wait! (thanks again for your patience, Guido...)

Glad to see she made the journey to your home port, mate, I'm sure you'll do her justice!

Cheers,
~Gunny
