Hi guys,
I have just started collecting picture references for my next project: Revell's 1/144 Wilhelm Bauer. I would appreciate if any of you have any exterior pictures you could share?
Here are a few of samples what I am looking for:

Thanks!

Hi there,

If I am right this is a Type XXI U-Boat.
I Found this one clear shot that may be of interest:

Also I found a picture showing the U-Boat being salvaged

http://www.rc-ubootwerft.de/images/wb%208%20big.jpg

Beside that, you may find these plans valuable for your project:
Plans Type 21

Fun to look at and with nice pictures from inside the vessel is this site:
QTVR Tour U 2540

Also, even in german language, this author gathered some nice pictures and drawings about that vessel as well:
German Wilhelm Bauer info pages

Other than that, I found it hard to find any decent photo or close up.
Hope this helps some and good luck with your project!

Hello Libor,
Try the German Embassy's Naval Attaché.
They might be able to get some photo's or sites for you.You also might want to see if there is any organization of former sailors for your submarine.
When I wrote to the Chinese Embassy about some of the ship colors for a build, They sent me a few small paint chips to match.
Give it a try. I have found that most Navy's love to help out modelers, so we can do their ships right.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hello Libor,
I found the embassy info and this web address:
http://www.germany.info/Vertretung/usa/en/01/_Embassy/Washington/01/_Data.html.
I put in my google search German Embassy in United States and it took me right to 9,000,000 websites. I clicked on the first one. It has a place to write to the Defense Attaché and the Embassy address.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Bruce

Ahoy Mates,

I was the one who started another thread about the Wilhelm Bauer's colors and frankly what D.T. answered seemd to fit in with everything I have been able to find out which hasn't been a lot. Thanks again to D.T.

Please report back here anything else you can find as I am currently working on this sub also.

Thank you and cheers to all,
Gary

Well, I have not been able to find anymore photos anywhere showing the whole Wilhelm Bauer. The color photos on here show it as having a lower hull in red but doesn't show a demarcation line in black. I guess it's all subject to interpretation so I'll keep proceeding and hope for the best...
