Hello there, I know about this surface craft from many years ago, I never actually knew there was a model, quite a nice size 1-144 scale of it, and now I am wondering if anyone has actually built it ?
I have seen the USS Freedom which I like, the big Whaleback in 1-72 and RAF rescue boat also in 1-72, but never the Sea Shadow, look forward to your reply.

Al,

I know about the kit, but have not built it. I have seen a couple of built ones and they did look nice. Knowing it is an old Revell kit and about when it was made the quality would probably fair.

There is a good deal of references on the Sea Shadow so you should have plenty to help you build one.

Yes, the USS Freedom is a hot looking ship. That is one class that makes me wish I was still in the Navy. She is going to be a big plus for the USN.

If you decide to try a Sea Shadow and need help give us a shout. We’ll see what we can figure out for you!

Hey Al,

I've got that kit also. From just doing a little dry fitting, it's not that bad. When I do get around to building mine, I plan on painting it in some sort of digital camo.

I built one up a couple of years ago. Fit wasn't bad, raised panel lines were over done, bug I imagine they felt they had to add something to the hull. The door on the side of the hull had some gaps around it if shut and there were some subtle sink marks around the afore-mentioned raised lines on my copy that were just present enough that I would up running a lot of putty over it to come down with a completely flat surface, but it didn't take long to build even with that.

Now that camo sounds interesting.

Wasn't the real one up for sale a couple of years ago?

The Navy is actually tyring to give it away. I am sure the only stipulation is new owner must relocate.

Sort of like when NASA was rumored to be selling the lunar rovers, delivery not included.
