The desk lamp is one of those that can move around side to side and up and down on the moveable arms. Problem is that it's old and over a period of hours it droops down, so when I saw the disaster, the bulb was only a few inches from the two kits
And I am feeling the financial burden, I paid close to $110 for it
I am thinking about starting my 1/350 Kirov now, that looks like an impressive kit

Sorry to hear about the melt down.... bummer... I had a similar situation earlier this year when I shelf above my workbench full of bottle, glues, etc, broke and dive-bombed my Kidd and Nimitz. At least I was able to (over several weeks) put the Kidd back together.
