I cannot find a consensus on what the correct colors to paint the Revell 1'144th scale Type VII-D U-Boat with the Griffon models detail set.

Revell's directions contain many miscues by showing different colors for the same area on the same version and different colors for the same call out. I do not have access to White Ensign colors and have more than a few fellow modelers having major issues with the consistency of the paint. So I do not want to sacrifice this build to a paint I am not familiar with.

What I need are color matches to more commonly available colors such as Model Master or Polly-S. I am planning on doing the U-217 in training colors during missions on the Baltic.

Life Color have a acryllic Kriegsmarine set containing 6 different colors which in my opinion is close enough - remember that when weatering, fading, dirt and grime is applyed the basic colors will have changed considerably.

Cheers/jan
