Anyone know what the correct colors should be for the Chinese type 33 Submarine? I usually hand paint using Model Master paints...

Sorry Mate, even if i build subs, chinese stuff is totally out of my league, but according to this google search http://images.google.dk/images?hl=da&source=hp&q=Chinese%20type%2033%20Submarine&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi then hull red and light gray seems to be a good choice - added weathering will change the gray alot.

Try asking over at steel navy. When I was looking for info about paint colors for some Chinese DD's and got an answer in a day or two. You also might find some info in Janes Defense Weekly Magazine. I wrote to the Chinese Embassy but got no answers from them.

Hello Gary,
The Chinese DD's were painted with what was described as Sea Foam Green. It looks like a mint green plus white/light gray. There was a web site I use to belong to that has a lot of info about the Chinese Navy, If you wish I can try to find it again.
A word of warning about the site, If is slanted towards the Chinese Communist Party with a lot of "sock puppets" there.
