Hi everybody,

a few months ago I started the build of Italeri's MTM Barchino. It is a easy, but very nice kit. The kit comes with a booklet, with some history of the boat and a lot of photo's of the original vessel. Also a fret of PE is included and a sailor.

At the moment I have finished almost completely the build (I'm a slow builder and worked also on another project) , which is done in several sub-assemblies for ease of painting.

The nice, but not accurate, box art (the lower part of the hull is black, not red):

An accurate drawing of the boat, also on the box:

Photo's of the build:

Next steps is finishing the build and painting the boat. I will update this topic as soon there is progress.

This will be an interesting addition to the display shelf. The instrument panel and props, are they brass or just painted?

Hi Jim and Rodger,

thank you for your replies. I like the subject very much and I'm thinking to buy the SLC 200 Maiale as well.

The instrument panel and the props is brass provided with the kit. The props comes as 'flat' blades and have to be twisted a little bit to get them in the right shape. This easy for the two prop blade, but is a bit difficult for the three prop blade.

I work on and off on this one. She is almost ready to paint. Just a bit of sanding to be done. I am currently looking for pictures of a paint scheme of a blue camo with triangles, that i saw on a model show. Although it isn't probably a used schema, it was just beautiful and gives some extras to this little subject.

Does anyone has pictures of this scheme?

hey spaarndammer
i recon i may well have a pic of the scheme to which you refer, unfortunatly it is too big to be allowed to be uploaded to this site and i dont know how to resize it, also uploading pics to here seems insanly complicated i looked on the forums but had no luck
the pic was taken at modellbauwettbewerb/modelcontest ''mosonmagyarovar 2009'' hungary, hope this helps
