the crew....got it 2 weeks ago and.. immediately..i checked the contents and amazed how Italeri did nice job on this one. comparing it to the PT boat's crew..the S-100 crew are sharply detailed. except for some minor issues like the locator tubs for the helmets. i've decided to take it out. cut and trimmed to fit right on their respective heads. plus the hands are quite large compared from other figures but nicely done.

special thanks to PeterPilotp38 of IPMS-BAC for donating the crew and Olibuli IPMS-BAC for the delivery..love it when the plan comes together..!

Really looks the part Ed. The extras really give it life and interest (if it was needed). Can´t wait to see the figures added.

hi and thanks guys for the nice words... updates on the crew..i made some improvements on the figures. repositioned the arms and tucked them on their sides. the actual pose were ok ...but..brood square shoulders and stiff arms..looks so unreal. i reshaped the sides with more natural look. other figures has to repositioned their hands specially the one carrying the cartridge-magazine. the hands looks real with palm lines..now that you don't see on your regular figures...

the actual posing was..the cartridge wasn't touching the left hand for support. this time with little adjustment he's ready to load the cartridge.

yeah..big hands..!

cartridge is now resting one the hands...

the seated crew on the Flak M42. the bottom side needs trimming to fit the bicycle seats. over all the figures are nicely done and fitted well on their areas. just the butt end..i reshaped them to rest naturally on the seats. pre painted the figure to reveal how much trimming and shaving needed.

the heads and canon are leveled fairly.. if i move the figures backward as the instruction picture showed. we can tilt the canon upward.

..comments and suggestions are welcome. thanks again..

Hello Ed,

Your doing a graeat job on this S-100 boot, looking at your pictures I have to make one remark.
It is very visiable on your pictures you for got to use putty on the filling plates of page 1 of the italery manual.
I mean part numbers 5e, 6e, 7e 33d and so on, these plates are not on the original vessel and are just for the model to fix thehull parts and after that the deck.

My compliments on your torpedo's they are looking very natural to me .
Just one advise when you finaly place them on the boot besure that the fins are
horizontal and vertical they work just like the fins of a airplane vertical for the direction and the horizontal for the deepth in the water.

Keep showing us your pictures !!!

Greetings from Holland

Bert

hi and thank you Albert...didn't notice that..except when you've mentioned it..i'll try and make some touch-up on the cover plates. one more thing that bothers me is the line separating the deck and the hull..very visible on the sides of the torpedo tubes (outlets)...it will take alot of TLC to re-touch this one..hopefully i'll have that in no time. thanks again...Albert..you have kin eyes for details. ed
