I sat this morning with the wireless operator from the HMCS Trillium and his wife this morning and had tea in their home. He has asked me to biuld his ship, and I cannot leave well enough alone..lol...does anyone have any suggestions on a RELATIVELY inexpensive yet comprehensive upgrade for the old matchbox 1:72 kit?..Id like to make him proud..

Jim,
I don't know how 'RELATIVELY' translates for you.
But here could be a good starting place. Great Little Ships
http://www.djparkins.clara.net/gls/glsmast.htm
you might trawl for other 1/72 kits and find items of interest (20mm Oerlikon cannons from the Airfix RAF rescue launch for example although eons ago I thought they looked a little overscale on my Flower )
