Here some photos of my Revell kit 1:350 scale of the Kursk. Usually I do armor, but did a sub for a diversion

Nice build - it looks like it could use a dull coate or is it a flash playing tricks ?

How long is it ?

Might be the flash...although the top coat is just future that was put on after the wash. I did not think that a dull coat is realistic as the water on a sub would be shiny...however as this is my first sub build, perhaps applying a dull coat is the correct way to go.

I was wondering if I put on a dullcoat, should I put it on the whole topside above the water line or just put on randomly on different areas topside to simulate the effect of runnging water off the boat.

Anyway..thanks for your comments

Hi Jack72

I have to concur with Jan on the dull coat
And if you give it, give it all around.

Another thing you could improve is the inside of the missile area, it should be in "medium green". With a black/rust color wash it would stand out all those internal details

Hope this helps

Thanks Rui,,,,

I will give it a dull coat.....(I assume spraying Flat clear is the same?).

I will also try and redo the missile bay area. The picture I got showed it to be flat balck,,,but perhaps the green and black rust drybrush will display it better.

Thanks for the input...I will work on a bit more....and show some updates soon

Hi Jack

Yes, is the same
As for the coloring of the missile area, the ones (photos of the real subs) show them in green... but then, it's your model
I only tried to help a little improving on it - and I understand that it is always a awkward situation to get back at one model and do some repairs

Cheers,
Rui

Thanks Rui,,,,I will make the changes as suggested because
1) I have not started my next project yet, so my mind is not completely moved on from this project.
2) My obsessive compulsive disorder will forces me to get it right.
