Hello, I just started building 700th scale water line models and I am hooked. I picked up a couple of ships and subs at a local show and now have the bug. My only problem is I am not a great ship historian and just like to build. Are there any sites that have a good list of what is out there and maybe shows photos of whats in the boxes. There just seems to be so much and I am trying to find stuff I would like to build. Thanks if advance. SF.

You are a lot like me. I prefer to build what I like and looks good rather than focus on historical accuracy. As far what is in boxes, this site is one of the best if you goto the Review section and browse by ship type. Hobby Search Japan is another good site and most of the model ships they sell have photos of box contents just not really closeup to see the detail level.

Jeff,
Welcome to the site. Hobby World does have a nice set up on thier kits. I like to use them for scouting kits I am interested in.
Don't hesitate to ask us anything. But, be warned, 1/700 ships can be hard on the eyes. But, they are much easier to store!

This site rates the quality of a lot of the ships both old and new. No pics though.
