There was an absolutely fascinating documentary on TV here last night "The real hunt for Red October", a true story which I never knew anything about before - the Storozhevoy mutiny.
In 1975 the ships political officer, disillusioned with the corrupt Soviet regime, staged a mutiny aboard his Krivak class frigate with the intention of sailing from Riga to Leningrad and broadcasting a message to the people intended to incite revolution and put Russia back on the path of true Communism. The Russian Navy thought he was trying to defect and were determined to sink him before he could......
The program can be downloaded from the Channel5 website, but you need to register, and may need to be a UK IP address (but a proxy could do the trick I'm sure). Well worth a watch.
