Group;
What is a good size of brass rod to keep on hand to replace ships masts for 1/700 scale?
Getting ready to start a 1/700 IJN Mogami, and just started reviewing the kit parts and I would like to improve the masts for rigging. The plastic masts in the past on other 1/700 ships I have constructed would crack or break while cutting off the tree or when starting to rig.
Any help would be great.

Hi Sammuel,
Personally, mate, I like to keep a wide assortment of brass rod on hand for all types of fiddly-bit replacements, down to .3mm diameter, BUT....if you really want to improve the deep, realistic look of your masts, I strongly suggest using BMK's turned brass masts, my friend...here in the U.S., Battlefleet Models has a great selection of masts that will meet most 1/700 scale building...haven't seen anything finer!
Cheers,
~Gunny
