I really like the way the papercard shows a slightly rippled look to it on the hull plating. Looks like the real thing as I remember it. Plastic models are too smooth, not showing any of the wear and tear to the hull.
Looking good.

yeah I try to get that look on a plastic battleship hull and i fail. the papercard has that dented up look to it. it is not perfect, but i'm getting to make close to the real thing. Thanks fof the comment.

Hey Red, that is really coming together nicely. Very nice hull details, piping etc. Lookin like my old tub ESSEX.
I'm looking for A-4's Skyhawks, S2F's Trackers, AD's Skyraiders, TF-1's Traders and the toughest - HSS-1's Sea Bats, HUP-2's Retrievers "The Angel" and E-1B's Tracer "Willy Fudd". These were the wingy thingy's on board in 61/62.
Not having a lot of success. Can get them in 540, 550 500 scale, but I don't find them in 350.

Hey EJ, the F-8's and A-4's came from Corsair Armada. the Willey Fudds and Trackers are from Iron Shipwrights. You may want to ask if they still make them at this time. Mardis
