Just wanted to present my almost finished Type IIa "Einbaum".

It is from Special Navy and I bulit it oob.

I started with opening the holes and closed those who are not typically for the Type IIa.

Torpedotubes had been painted before placing them inside the hule.

Next step was the tower of the submarine...

The holes behind the photo etched parts had been opened.

Deck was fixed after removing some of the plastic to fit it in place

the "Einbaum" got his tooth and some other parts...

The gun has been added to the deck

and the ship was ready for paint

I have used the Tamyia Light grey Primer

After a day to let it dry I did a bit of pre-shading

The submarine was airbrushed with Revell Aqua Color, according to the Instructions of the Revell VIIc.

I also added the yellow stripe arround the tower

To let it look like U-3, one of the training submarines I wanted first to use a decal, but decided to paint the white stripe with the airbrush. Also I did some washing to let the boot look a bit older

This is how it looks at the moment

I know I am quite far away from being perfect, but this is my first submarine and my second model where I have used the airbrush and oil colors for washing. I am pretty happy with the result...

Now it needs only the cables and some crew members and than it is finished. Hope you like it so far

Thanks a lot. It was your boat who inspired me to use this type for my Diorama...

OK, my submarine is finished and I will continue now with building my sub pens. There is no crew on my submarine, because I have not decided yet where to place them. The boat is part of my diorama, thats why the propellers are "missing". They will be replaced in the scene that I want to build in the drydock.
So here are the pictures:

Hope you like the result!
