The Gustlaff sinking was a tremendous disaster--I am glad Peter took time out to commemorate that tragic ship.

The Gustloff incident is not that unknown, at least down here... There's a book describing all the incident, being sold at the Museu de Marinha.
Back to the Feature... Great introduction, and also very dramatic photos of the ship, making it a true homage to the real ship

As others have said - a fitting tribute to the thousands of people who were tragically lost in these sinkings.

My mother comes from just outside of Gydnia, a small place called Reda, so this story has a strange resonance for me.

I appreciate that the photography is intended to be atmospheric BUT is there any chance for some full colour shots - I'd really appreciate the opportunity to see Pete's multi-hued brushwork .

A fabulous build - very atmospheric. Having seen this ship 'in the making' about June this year I know how much time and deliberation you spent on her. A great result!

I would echo the comment that I'd also like to see her 'in the daylight' so to speak. Any chance?

Wow ghastly pictures, ghastly (beefy) boat, terrible story! Looks like THE Mr Fulgoney striked again! That's a real great job you did once again, but yep, Karol is right, any chance to get colour pictures? or maybe you just painted it that way which would have been a great idea too!

Thank you very much my friends for your kind comments, and I get the message you would like to see it in a true light. I shall do this, and make a supplementry submission for you.

The "atmosphere" I wanted was one of darkness, cold, and suspense. I thus used a COKIN fog filter, and graduated "tobacco" filter. The background is dark grey paper with some chalk, and creasing by hand. The light is 2 x downlighters - in the kitchen.

Great work Peter, and the "atmosphere" is just spot on..... sounds weird, but I do *not* want to see unedited pics... I want to remember this one "as is", reflection of the momment.

Oh, I am sure i will peek eventually at the full unedited build, but will enjoy the current presentation for just a bit longer

Excellent build and narrative! It's actually kind of creepy, as it captures the ghostlike aura of the impending tragedy. Very atmospheric build.

When I first opened the image file from Peter, I got the chilled feeling of impending doom as I gazed at the photos (Mr. Fulgoney, you have hit the nail spot on, mate!)...IMHO, a fabulous build, as well as an excellent, artful presentation of the model/vessel/history, all in one...
