Nice work, Jan. It's such a nice kit, I like to stock up on spares for the guns, fittings, and boats for other projects.

Very nicely done. It wasn't until I was most of the way through the photos that I noticed there was no rigging. I don't think it detracts from the ship in any way. At "scale distance" you probably couldn't see any rigging anyway.

Nice work on a beautiful ship!

I'm working on the ICM SMS König, your build is giving me some great inspiration.

Thanks guys, I went for the postwar look, a bit used/abused and ill kept.

I went totally cold on the rigging - dOh, tried but i should propably have done it before too much assembly and PE railing ..

Its a fairly nice kit, but care is needed and it have its tricky points - the deck over the kassemats ? - fits badly and need some help along the way. The superstructure is in a mad number of parts that needs care to aling properly etc...

Cheers/Jan

Hello Jan

Sorry for the late input
I think you have done a very good presentation of the Markgraf, but at this scale you should try and rig it
You still can do it, from bow to stern, using fine streched sprue or fly fishing line... c'mon!! Give it a try, please
Just take your time... you'll see it will pay off the effort

Congratulations on a great built with a nice (slightly over, but still very acceptable) weathering

Cheers,
Rui

Jan,

Congrats to a very inspiring representation of the ship.
I second the rigging issue but that is all up to you.

It must have been a kit with a lot of issues but you managed it all the way.
Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi Jan,

yes ,, try rigging, it improves the model a lot.

@ Dariush,

The ICM kit has much less issues as most of the the people say. Never forget, the kit is not one of the superdetailed new ones, its quite old, more as 10 years. the main thing , you have to do a little research, as all these ICM kits are more or less a mixture between all ships of the class.and as Jan said , you have to be very carefull with the superstructure, it looks so small and easy, but..... I´m stil building my König, with a mixture of WEM, GMM and Toms...I counted parts of the superstructure around the first funnel, ...250 I count.
Another thing you should never forget if you complain about the kit, its very cheap to compare with other battleships, you get it between 40 and 50 € here in Germany.

Best regards
Marc

Thanks guys - it might get a rigging yet ... lets see if it works out!

Its not a bad kit as it is - but it takes some skills and patience here and there to get done.....

Cheers/Jan
