Is there a manufacturer that makes an 18th century whaling boat in 1/32 scale, or even close? Or, is there a set of plans that can be obtained for scratchbuilding one?

If you try E Bay , you should be successful by typing a search for "ship plans"..if you have an actual name of the ship you are looking for it will probably help, as there were lots and lots of hits..

Hi John,
I know of a limited availability of wooden ship kits of this variety, although scaling will differ (1/60)...here's a beauty of the Dutch Whaler Mantua as an example...

What I was hoping for was a whaling "boat", the launches they used for harpooning and hauling whales back to the ship for processing. I found some plans on ebay for one in a larger scale. I suppose I could scale them down. A kit would be great though.

Oh, ok, Here's one that's a bit closer to what I believe you're looking for, mate...pretty sweet looking skiff, too, I might add!

Here is a listing for plans for a motor whale boat.
http://www.microglass.net/products/p1005.html
Since it's a motor boat you'd have to modify the plans for the stern.
This site
http://www.hobbyworldinc.com/woodship40b.html
has plans for an actual 1850's era whale boat, in 1/16 scale. You'd have to reduce the plans by half, but that should be easy.
