Hello mariners. I don't frequently post here, I'm usually over at Armorama. I was asked by a family member to build the Italeri 1/720 USS Roosevelt for him. This is only (maybe) the 3rd ship I have ever done. So I gave it a go. I had no issues with assembly. Painting the aircraft was fun as well. I did add a few things, like the supports for the blast deflector behind the launching aircraft. I also folded the wings on a few aircraft. Let me know what you think.
Here she is.

Thanks Gator, it was a fun build. Always good to go a little off the usual-build path now and then.

Ahoy, Gino,
Nice build, mate, thanks for sharing her with us!
I always enjoy watching modelers who step out of their usual "comfort zone" of genre subject, and usually, it will open up a whole new set of interests for them...so, what's YOUR next ship build going to be?
Cheers,
~Gunny

Thanks Gunny. No plans for another ship right now. I do like the carriers though. I did see there is a big 1/350 Nimitz, that would be pretty cool.

Nice job, Gino. You even got some real airplanes (A-7 and F-14 ) on the deck.

Thanks Mark. I do like the F-14, it just looks right on a carrier deck. Makes me want to go watch Top Gun now.

Wish that movie focused more on the Tom Cats, and not the Tom Cruise.

I hear you Mark. That's about the only Tom Cruise movie I can stomach watching any more.
Nice build Gino. I'm sure your family member will be proud of it.
