Hi all,
Long time lurker, occassional commenter. I recently picked up a 1/48 scale rag boat by Monogram on ebay. It was part of the twin kit with the Huey chopper. It did not come with any instructions. Would anyone have a set they could scan and send my way?
Also, I'm looking for any close up photos of rag boats in use. I've spent several hours on the net but all I've been able to find so far are distance shots that don't show much detail of the boats. I'm especially interested in any interior shots.
I'm just now getting back into modeling after a 25 year hiatus and am trying to dust off the tools and brushes. I'm currently trying to detail out an old Revell PCF that I would like to put on a river scene with the rag boat when I get them done. Any info or pictures of the PCF would also be appreciated.
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Ahoy John,
I personally can't help you, but I know a guy that might just fit the ticket mate...his name is Joe Szczygielski, Associate Editor for Aeroscale, and KitMaker's resident chopper aficionado, and I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't built this kit and just might have the instructions....drop him a pm, he's a great guy!
Cheers,
~Gunny

Hi John, You might see if you can find a book title The illustrated history of riverine force, the Vietnam war. Good reading and a load of pic's. Not much as far as interior shots but alot of info. You also might give Taffy 3 a p/m. I belive he has instructions as I know he has built and added a sparce interior. Hope it helps you some. bob d.

Hello John, I'm afraid I can't help you much, Bob was confused, I was working on a PCF, the Swift boat, not the RAG boat. I built the RAG Boat a long time ago and as I remember it was a fairly simple kit. You shouldn't have too many problems with it. I haven't seen a lot of interior shots of those boats. You might have to use a little creative thinking and 'artistic license'. I'd be glad to help any way I can. I'll answer any construction questions as best as I can remember.

Thanks Al. I appreciate your willingness to help out an old newbie. Not sure yet when I'll get started on the rag boat. I'm trying to finish up the PCF first. I'm dealing with the old modeler's equation: arthritic hands + poor eyesight + kit with soft datails = slow progress!

Sorry Al. Thought the rag was the one you did with the two armored tubs up front.
