Alec: Nice work (some of your best to date) May I make a few humble suggestions:

1. Use thinner rigging (I know I've suggested it before) Use the 20 Denier stuff from here:
http://www.jsflyfishing.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?&category=57000&start=12
2. Use black caenis or run a permanent marker over the tread before using it.
3. Get a pair of opti-viewer glasses if you don't already have them (see amazon.com for them) you can't do great 1/700 w/o them (trust me)
4. If you will be doing More IJN stuff, it might be useful to check e-bay for a bunch of general PE sets for davit boats and rigging stuff you can use so you don't have to sit the lifeboats on the deck under the boat stanchions.
remember, it's 1/700 smaller, smaller, smallest. Less is more!

Keep it up, take your time, and have fun!

David
