Not really sure if this is of interest but this link leads to a build log of the Revell Tirpitz on Fine scale modeler. I am using Eduard PE and aftermarket barrels from JB model in Vienna and additional PE from White Ensign in the UK:

You're doing well so far. That camo is certainly eye catching. I'm so glad to see the pictures of your work bench. It's nice to know mine isn't the only one that looks so, to put it diplomatically, "lived in."

Thank you Rodger, yes, the work bench is rather dire: the place where models come to die.....................................................................

Looks good Julian!
I have Tirpitz elder sister lined up (HMS Bentinck, USS San Fransisco and Admiral Hipper are first)...... I am waiting for the Lion Roar set, which should have been delivered last week, and hasn't yet.... Good job on the camouflage so far!
Looking forward to see the progress on this ship..

Bedankt Harm ! The Lion roar sets are great but rather pricey. I went for the Eduard as it wasn't too expensive and it is my first big tussle with photo etch after market sets. Have you tried Gator Grip Glue yet? Its amazing, can't imagine trying this with super glue
Cheers,
Julian

http://www.gatorsmask.com/gatorglueorder.htmlCheck the link above. Two weeks from order in the USA to arrival in Holland. Not too expensive and shipping cost was reasonable to.

Looks very impressive, and close to being finished...
Progress on my two ships has been extremely slow as well over the past few weeks - I have been suckered in not by the dark side as well, but in my case that of the wingy-thingies (in this case a P-38).
Thanks for the tip about the Gator's glue! I have been using it for the PE for the aircraft kit (still have to prepare the ship kits to have the PE fitted). And it works lovely!

Hi there Harm, nice to hear from you ! Yes, on finals now, and to be honest quite glad that the build is near wrapped up. Have been underway for nearly 6 months and while I don't often have more than 1 model at a time on the bench I do buy more new models for the stash. Ratio works out at about 10 new models to 1 built so I hope I reach a ripe old age

Have you posted any pictures of your P-38? I love aircraft but find them more difficult to build well than Ships or armour.
Glad you picked up on Gator glue, the stuff is magic.
Cheers for now,
Julian

Thanks Harm, yes, know the problem. Life has a way of busting in on the serious things in life like model building, tasting wine and eating good food
cheers,
Julian
