Hi!
I'm planning on doing a dio of the USS Franklin when she was hit on Mrach 19, 1945. The Shipcamoflage database has her in MS 21 at the time, with a 'deck blue' flight deck. The color photos I have seen support that.
However, I have seen some pretty good "well researched" models of her with a wood colored deck. Wouldn't that negate the whole idea of MS 21 (being harder to spot from the air)? Am I missing something?
Thanks for any advice!

Hey Steve,
The sun would bleach out the stain pretty quickly. I've seen photos of CV-10 on it's maiden voyage with signs of the stain wearing off. A medium to dark wood tone with a hint of blue would be a good color.
