In my E Mail In-Box today I received a new Weekly E Mail from the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and found an article on the latest Oscar Dyson Class Fisheries Research Vessel to be contracted for. This will be the fifth of these highly successful research vessels and will feature updated electronics and lab facilities to complete the missions assigned to it. The price tag on this one will be $73.6 million.

These ships are 208 foot long stern type ocean fishing trawlers that can drag nets down as deep as 1800 meters as well as perform a host of other scientific oceanographic missions.
