This is the other project started over the weekend, the USS San Fransisco. Also to be dressed up with the WEM PE set. It is the Trumpeter 1/350 kit.
Fit so far is good... less pleasant is the great number of ejector-pin marks that need to be filled on the underside of the platforms. The sole part that so far did not fit too well (due to warpage) were the side-walls of the forecastle sitting right on top of the main deck (B-gun is located on top of this deck). Again, most parts are not yet glued together. I first have to think of a paractical sequence for painting the the ship.
One question though: Are there images of the 1994 hangar doors, which allegedly were concertina style and not the ones Trumpeter depicted.
Thanks for looking,
Harm

Looks good to me! Is that Airfix kit # 5280?

Thanks!
Nope, it is the Trumpeter 1/350 kit: 05310. And already it is surprisingly large...
Next thing to be done is the hangar door - I think I will try to scratch them, using the Trumpeter part and the USS Indianapolis doors (which seem to have been concertina doors as well) as an example. I hope to get to that over the weekend...

Oops, I stuck the wrong response to the wrong thread, that question was meant for the e-boat WIP thread, sorry!
I do have this one in 1:700 scale, look forward to your build!
