After two failed attempts to make a full hull AFV version of the Type VIIC boat due to an ill hull breakdown, I sure hope that HB engineered this kit better. The problem with the AFV kit is that the hull seam is crossing all these nifty weld lines on the saddle tanks, bob

Ahoy Bob,
I have not seen the HB VII C yet but I must say that you are right about the AFV.
Although very nice kits, they do required a lot of patience to work that hull joint.
I recently picked up the Revell RoG VII C and in my opion .....WOW!!!... half
the price...no PE...but very well and finely detailed and all hull rivets are represented.
A real little jewel!
Just the one thing that bothered me at first, the forward dive planes and supports are molded onto a small insert that mounts into the hull. There
is a little filling to do here with putty.
But when compared to the hull seam of the AFV, I got over it very fast .
So let us see what HB has to offer.
Have a great day and happy modeling.
Cheers,
Joe

You may consider Flagmans VII kit - they are supposed to be quite good.

Ahoy Jan,
I have picked up the Flagman kits and although they are correct in shape
the detail tends to be little soft compared to the others.
Their biggest downfall......No deck rails and No conning tower rails and no
representation of weld lines. The lack of rails will give some builders a great challenge to correctly represent the boats especially them being ........1:350 scale.
I am waiting to get the HB Type VII C and will do a comparison article on MSW.
Cheers
Joe
