Associate Editors

Summary: The Associate Editor shall be responsible for the content additions to the site (reviews, features). Associate Editors (AE's) shall also be called upon to help with contests, starting polls, or any tasks assigned by the Managing Editors.

Job Responsibilities:

• The AE will have access to staff email account to receive and coordinate content additions to the site.

• The AE will oversee the addition of reviews and features to the site and coordinate their publication with the Managing Editors.

• The AE will work to enact any directives made by the managing editors or publisher, enforce site policy and promote the general welfare of the greater KitMaker community of modelers.

• The AE will post at LEAST four unique articles, reviews, etc. per month and release them under the "Whats New" category (this process will be explained in full once you're hired!) by said individual Editor.

Job does not entail:

• Managing/moderating forum or news content. However hosting several areas of the forum is perfectly acceptable.

Skill Requirements:

• Associate Editors should be capable modelers with at least 2 years experience concurrent experience building the types of scale models their site covers.

• Associate Editors must be able to express ideas clearly and logically and should like to write. Creativity, curiosity, a broad range of knowledge, self-motivation and perseverance also are valuable.

• Attention to detail.

• They need to demonstrate good judgment and a strong sense of ethics in deciding what to publish.

• Basic Internet experience, image processing (Photoshop?) and basic HTML would be helpful.

• Conduct oneself professionally in all environments, including industry events.

Reports to: Managing Editors

Compensation: This is a volunteer position. Samples provided are yours to keep as long as our obligations to sample provider are met (review, feature, etc).
