Over on the land and guns site quite some time ago now, I built a WW1 dio which was a multi segmented system, and the thought of building another has been buzzing around inside my head for a while, this is just a little piece of a diorama I built today, all comments please.

Reminds me of several bunker stations I visited when I was still sailing. Looks very run down. An excellent use of what would seem to be paint can lids. Really very good.

My computer is having a funny turn again, and I don't always recieve the auto replies, this one I did.
The oil tanks as you quite rightly said are bottle tops, which just happen to be the same scale as the oil storage tanks 1-700. Not bad for a lazy Sunday afternoons work. Many thanks for the comments.
