Hi guys
I am about to commence a trumpeter 1/350 hood. I will be using the Lion Roar detail set. Included with this set are a number of life buoys (rings) but there does not appear to be any reference as to where they would be located on the ship. Can anyone advise me on this?
Thanks people

Have you looked through hmshood.com?

Hi Tracy
Yes I have actually searched that site but have not been able to find anything specifically about where these rings were carried.
I just hoped someone else may have used the Lion Roar set and knew the placemant
Thank you
Colin

Hi Colin,
I have been through AOTS on HMS Hood & the pictorial Biography, The only pics that show circular lifebouys are on the cabin roofs of the motor boats, and then when they were in the water.
There is one pic, prewar, that shows what might be a lifebouy, under the H of H O O D on the bulkhead at the forward end of the quarterdeck, but it is not clear.
sorry not much, but I cannot see in any of the photos circular lifebouys carried on the deck edge or around the superstructure.
Si

thanks Si ( SIMON??)
I think maybe that I will leave them off then. Rather have them missing than incorrectly mounted.
I have Bruce Taylor's book, "THe Battlecruiser Hood" and I cannot see any in the pictures either.
Cheers
Colin
