Gentlemen-
Originally a siege weapon of old to bring down the enemy’s fortifications, the mine had developed into a variety of highly specialised weapons. Ranging from small anti-personnel mines to huge multi-ton underground explosive charges of World War One, from being a covert passive charge to actively moving high-tech weapon system, the mine today is most controversial. Today an estimated 60,000,000 mines are estimated to be actively deployed or lay forgotten in the killing fields of the war zones of the past one hundred years.
In mine warfare laying and sweeping mines takes up great efforts on behalf of the fighting parties. Mines may be laid and swept by aircraft, ground forces and marine vessels alike.
This campaign focuses on both sides of the effort in mine warfare.
So who is with me on this one? There are plenty of kits to choose from figures to planes, from tanks to ship and submarines.
I am thinking about a start date of mid 2011and a campaign duration of 6 to 9 months.
Cheers,
Guido

Nice idea, Guido. I am in.
It will be a good excuse to find and build a minelaying submarine. I am completely in the blank on what kits are available, but I am sure a quick internet search will turn up some good kits.
Back up will be the flying boat minelayer Heinkel 115, or Heinkel 111.
Sounds very much like a kitmaker wide campaign.

Great idea, I got a AFV Club VII D in 1:350 that will fit nicely.
Jesper, from my memory regarding subs in styrene theres AFV´s 1:350 VII D, Revells 1:144 VII D and a conversionset from Special Navy in 1:72 to convert a ordinary Revell 1:72 VII C into a D.
Aside from that, theres probably some ww I items to find in resin, but that will take e further search.
Cheers/Jan

Count me in as well. An excellent choice for a campaign. I have just managed to get hold of an out-of-print copy of Peter Elliot's book on Aliied Minesweeping so there is plenty of inspiration there.
I really need a kick up the backside to get started with the challenge of the old Matchbox HMS Ariadne kit, so this should help
Minesweepers are amongst my favourite vessels, so no shortage of choice there either.

Excellent!
The count is 10 already. Keep your peeled for the upcoming campaign mainsheet. I hope to be able to set it up some time today.
That was quite quick again!
Great choices for the B&V and of cause the British Fast Minelayer, which reminds my of the 350th WEM kit sitting somewhere in my stash!

Cheers,
Guido
