This is the very FIRST diorama battleship in ice I have ever seen, and this is so easy to describe using just 3 words - I love it - on the downside of things, I would like to see more close ups, the backdrop is also great.

Now that's a 'cold' diorama! The subtle snow buildup is a nice (and probably tricky) touch and the combination with a suitable sky makes this one click.

WOW!

I saw that one in the que and it made me cold looking at it. I wonder if we can talk you into doing SBS on making that ice?

Great Job.

Very cool diorama. I'm curious about the turret markings - I have never seen the red panel on Bruno turret or the Iron Crosses on Anton and Ceaser turrets before.

Thanks to all for your kind comments.

Alec, my friend, you are the guy always wishing more closeup pictures. I swear that after your previous request on my Denmark Strait diorama this time I took the time and shot more pics. Some additional photos are to be posted soon at modelshipwrights.com. Hope those satisfy your curiosity.
Alec and Karl: Starting from my previous submission (DS diorama) I've decided to paint my own backdrops since every diorama demands a unique and specific one. So I've grab my brushes and....
Martin: You are probably right! I don't praise myself as a naval history guru but I swear that I've seen the turrets painted like that somewhere in the web. Right now I can't recall where did I get the idea of the iron crosses; probably an inspiration of mine......

Well, the good thing is that I took plenty of pics while I was building this model more than a year ago. The bad thing is that as English is not my mother language I depend totally on my son Augusto-who's is wrinting these paragraphs- to write down anything in this language.
I just convinced him to make an effort. He agrees provided it won't take much of his limited time. Are there any instructions to follow or at least a good SBS report that could serve as a guide for him/me to follow?

Regards,

Jorge and Augusto

Hi Jorge and Augusto!

This is an example of an ultimate step by step:

Step-by-step Feature

So anything like this, would be great...basically, just how you have achieved the build in question, is what our members are looking for, so they can try to incorporate your methods into their own builds....any questions, please feel free to e-mail me and we can work it out.

Cheers,
~Mark

Hi, Mark:

I'm just starting on it. I will focus on the ice, snow, frost, some other not so hackneyed build subject. Any particular format (.doc. html)? Specs for the photos (size, resolution)?

Best way to do it is in a word doc. format, mate, and as far as images, they are best in full resolution (at least 800x600...bigger the better!), and un-edited. Wrap it all up in an e-mail to me and I'll take it from there, my friend!

Cheers,
~Mark
