Hello,
I just purchased the 1/128 Moebius Seaview submarine, I have never built a model of this size before and was wondering what is the best cement to use putting all this together is. And then also I have always used tamiya putty, is there a better putty to use given the size of this kit ??
Thanks

Ahoy John,
Welcome to Modelshipwrights mate!
Well, my friend, great questions, and quite honestly, will more than likely yield you a bevy of different answers from different modelers, solely because what's better for some, might be garbage for others...there are many types of both adhesives and putty on the market, and to single any one out as the "best" is un-achievable...it all boils down to what works best for you.
So, I'll give you my two cents, mate, when I do have time to build anything anymore, I use (what I've been using for 30+ years) good ole' Testors cement for most assembly, and occasionally Tamiya thin cement for builds that have long adhesion joints to be made...the Tamiya thin has the handy applicator brush, and flows very easily on long joints, making the task not quite a task.
For putty, I haven't used a better product than Tamiya Basic gray, along with some superfine (1200/1400 grit) Tamiya sandpaper to make those putty joints disappear.
Whichever methods that you do choose, John, you are most welcome to share your build with us here at MSW! Start your own separate "BLOG" (Build Log) thread, and show us your work in images and text as you go...great way to make friends here, and also cross any hurdles that you may reach by other modelers that have built the same kit and may have some helpful insight.
Cheers,
~Gunny
